Tony Jacklin
England Deaf Golf (EDG) are proud to have Tony Jacklin as our patron.
Anthony Jacklin CBE is a retired English golfer. He was the most successful British player of his generation, winning two major championships, the 1969 Open Championship and the 1970 U.S. Open. He was also Ryder Cup captain from 1983 to 1989; Europe winning two and tying another of these four events.
Tony Jacklin said "I've been hearing impaired for the last 25 years and I know very well how not being able to hear the golf club strike the golf ball became a problem, including the swish of the club when you're hitting a full shot, the click of the ball. When you take those things away it changes the whole picture. So on that basis I know some of the problems which face these individuals and I'm more than happy to help these individuals in any way I can"
